Hankook Tire

Hankook Tire

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This building of this cutting-edge tire production facility showcased the power of precise, yet adaptable, scheduling, working through ice storms in the early winter, tornadoes in the spring, and limited laydown space on-site. This project also required meticulous planning, intricate sequencing and erection plans, and, due to the design-build contract, over 401 RFI’s and 83 design revisions.

With the tireless efforts of our on-site teams, fabrication operations, logistics and deliveries, and all other trades that utilized advanced scheduling technology, we were able to deliver more than 60,000 pieces with a 99.83% fabrication conformity rate and on-time erection

The scope of this project encompassed eight ancillary buildings, a mixing building, and a warehouse area. In addition to the project’s expansive size, our sub-erectors were tasked with erecting over the top of finger tunnels that measured 38 feet across, a main tunnel that was 27 feet across and tying into existing structures on-site.

Our work completed with zero recordables and no time lost to injury – a testament to the emphasis Cooper Steel places on safety. We’re proud to have contributed to this site, which will create more than 1,100 total estimated jobs in the area.
