Gary Cooper has made the steel business, and the people in it, his life since joining his family’s business in 1979. From humble beginnings priming steel to growing into the role of CEO and Chairman of the Board, Gary has championed the values and culture that continues to make Cooper Steel a national leader in our industry. Today, he leads alongside his children, Cory, Jordan, and Sydney, empowering his team prioritize customers and deliver excellence inside the company and on every job.

Cory Cooper is the current Chief Operations Officer and has been influential in the company for many years. His career at Cooper Steel started with washing trucks on the weekends to night-shift in the fabrication shop until continuing to full-time in the field in 2007, which consisted of being an ironworker, crane operator, and project manager. He immediately became an asset to the family business with hands-on experience and a unique view of the company and earned his current title in 2020.

Jordan Cooper is the Chief Financial Officer at Cooper Steel, where he leads business administration and innovation. His responsibilities include overseeing the company’s technology, legal, accounting, financial planning, and human resources departments. After earning a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in finance from Middle Tennessee State University, Jordan began his career in the family business as a new business manager. He joined the leadership team as Chief Administrative Officer in 2016 and earned the title of CFO in 2020. Since then, he has helped guide Cooper Steel through its largest periods of growth and continues to support strategic planning for a strong future.

W. Duff Zimmerman serves as President of Cooper Steel, bringing over 30 years of experience across key leadership roles, including Project Manager, Field Operations Manager, and Vice President/COO. His deep industry knowledge and operational expertise have been instrumental in driving the company’s growth and success. Duff holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee.

Elizabeth Burris is the Chief Legal Officer at Cooper Steel, where she supports the company’s compliance, security, and legal operations. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, a Doctor of Jurisprudence, and a license to practice law. Elizabeth is also a Rule 31 Listed Civil and Family Mediator. Before joining Cooper Steel in 2017, she practiced law privately, bringing valuable legal expertise to the company’s leadership team.

Stephen Crews is the President of Fabrication Operations at Cooper Steel, where he oversees purchasing, safety, plant operations, and fabrication. His career with Cooper Steel began early, working summer jobs during college before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2004. Over the years, Stephen has held a variety of roles, including Assistant Operations Manager, Project Manager, and Vice President of Operations. His broad experience and leadership have prepared him to guide the company’s fabrication operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety.

Drew Turner is the Controller at Cooper Steel, where he leads the company’s accounting teams. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from Belmont University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. Before joining Cooper Steel in 2016, Drew worked in public accounting, bringing valuable financial expertise to support the company’s continued growth and stability.
